Safety & Maintenance Guidelines
For safe operation, always ensure vertical lifts only — never attempt angular lifts. Do not exceed the safe working load at the designated lifting point, and keep the mast in the vertical position at all times. The shackle pin must be fully tightened before every lift.
Weekly inspection is recommended, covering all weld points, fork pocket wear, heel pin condition, and the general condition of the swivel hook, safety latch, and shackle. This product is certified for six months from the date of manufacture, after which re-testing at an approved facility or inspection by a competent person is required in line with HSE guidelines.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a fork mounted hook used for?
A fork mounted hook converts a standard forklift truck into a mobile crane, allowing it to lift suspended loads from a hook rather than on forks alone.
What capacity fork mounted hook do I need?
Models are available from 1,000 kg up to 5,000 kg capacity. Always select a model rated at or above your maximum intended load, and ensure your forklift truck is rated for the same capacity.
How often does a fork mounted hook need to be inspected?
Perform a pre-use check before every use. A formal re-test or competent-person inspection is required every six months in accordance with HSE guidance.
