They are ideal for workstations, warehouses, production lines, and anywhere you need to lift and transport heavy items with precision.
Our jib cranes are designed with the utmost attention to detail and safety, ensuring reliable performance and longevity. They are easy to install, operate, and maintain, providing a cost-effective solution for your lifting requirements.
What is a jib crane?
A jib crane is a versatile overhead lifting device that’s used to support chain hoists, including both electric hoists and manual hoists. They’re designed to handle heavy loads, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of your personnel. They’re popular in industries such as ports, manufacturing & warehousing.
A jib crane is commonly used in conjunction with a beam trolley in order to manoeuvre high-volume loads with expert precision.
Benefits of using a Jib Crane
Jib cranes offer a range of benefits that make them an excellent choice for many lifting applications:
- Versatility: Jib cranes can be used in a variety of environments, from warehouses and manufacturing plants to docks and construction sites. They can handle different types of loads and can be customised to meet specific lifting requirements.
- Space Efficiency: With their compact design, jib cranes take up minimal space, making them ideal for workstations with limited space. The arm (or ‘jib’) can also rotate, providing excellent coverage in a circular area.
- Ease of Use: Jib cranes are designed for simplicity and ease of use. They can be operated manually or electrically, depending on the model, and require minimal training to operate.
- Cost-Effective: Compared to other types of cranes, jib cranes are relatively inexpensive. They are also easy to install and maintain, which can lead to lower operational costs over time.
- Safety: Jib cranes are designed with safety in mind. They include features like overload protection and emergency stop functions. Their design also allows for precise control when moving loads, which can help prevent accidents and damage to goods.
- Increased Productivity: By enabling quick and easy lifting and moving of heavy items, jib cranes can help increase productivity. They can reduce the time and effort required to move goods, leading to more efficient operations.

The Type of Jib Crane we Manufacture
Swing Jib Cranes
These cranes are available in manual or electric powered versions. Industrial swing jib cranes are useful for gripping heavy items and transporting them over short-medium distances.
Mounting Options for Swing Jibs
- Free standing swing jib crane – A free standing swing jib crane is mounted on its own floor-fixed column, allowing it to be installed anywhere in the workspace without relying on existing walls or structures.
- Wall-mounted swing jib crane – A wall mounted swing jib crane is fixed directly to a suitable structural wall, providing lifting coverage while keeping the floor area completely clear.
- Column- mounted swing jib crane – A column mounted swing jib crane is attached to an existing building column or pillar, making use of the building’s structure while avoiding the need for additional floor fixings.
Using the jib crane
Once the jib crane has been installed, be sure to inspect it before each use. Specifically, you should look for damage to the jib crane or connected lifting equipment, loosened nuts or bolts, and the presence of any debris on the runway.
Once the jib crane has been inspected and cleared for use, ensure the path in which the slewing arm will travel is clear of obstacles and alert your personnel that the jib crane is about to be used, ensuring they won’t walk under the load while the lift is in progress.
To start the lift, position the jib arm directly over the load you wish to lift and ensure the beam trolley won’t crash once it reaches the end of the runway. Once the load has been connected to the hoist, lift & manoeuvre the load at a steady pace and ensure the load is not dragged along the floor.
Once the lift has been completed, lower the hoist and disconnect the load from the hoist before returning the jib crane to its original position.
